Basketball Recap: Wiggins Skates Past Liberty Common with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Wiggins on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Liberty Common Eagles out of the water with a 59-23 final score. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Wiggins found their leader in freshman Karsyn Kerr, who went 9 for 12 on her way to 19 points along with six boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kerr has scored all season. Kennedy Kerr was another key player, going 7 of 13 en route to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Wiggins was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Wiggins' win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Liberty Common, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiggins will head out to square off against Platte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Strasburg will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Liberty Common surely won't give up without a fight.
