Soccer Game Preview: King George vs. Riverbend

The King George Foxes will square off against the Riverbend Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

King George is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Chancellor on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 1-0. King George fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Chancellor since on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Riverbend entered their tilt with Massaponax on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Riverbend might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Riverbend pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for King George, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

King George suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Riverbend in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. Can the Foxes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
