Soccer Recap: Hoke County Takes a Loss

Hoke County lost against Purnell Swett back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bucks came up short against the Rams, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Hoke County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Purnell Swett are ranked 150th).

Hoke County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Purnell Swett, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Hoke County has already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Richmond on the 4th. As for Purnell Swett, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Gray's Creek on the 4th.
