Recap: Western Reserve Roughriders vs. Keystone Wildcats

After flying high against the St. Peter's Spartans last Saturday, the Western Reserve Roughriders came back down to earth. Western Reserve received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 55-39 to Keystone. Western Reserve lost against Keystone in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-39 score last time.

Keystone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Nagle led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for Nagle. Another player making a difference was Grant Hartley, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Western Reserve now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Keystone, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Reserve will take on South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Keystone, they will head out on the road to face off against Black River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Black River comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
