Recap: Wayne Christian Eagles vs. Rocky Mount Academy Eagles
The Wayne Christian Eagles have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell to Rocky Mount Academy 63-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (56), Wayne Christian still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky Mount Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marti McKnight, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Eatmon, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Wayne Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Rocky Mount Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Wayne Christian will head out on the road to square off against Greenfield at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Rocky Mount Academy will take on Oakwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Oakwood is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
