Basketball Recap: Irmo's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lexington, Irmo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 victory over the River Bluff Gators. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Yellow Jackets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Irmo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayla Anderson, who went 6 for 14 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Anderson a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Abby Livingston, who posted 12 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Irmo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Irmo now has a winning record of 11-10. As for River Bluff, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Irmo will look to defend their home court on Friday against White Knoll at 6:00 p.m. As for River Bluff, they will venture away from home to square off against Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
