Softball Recap: Chuckey-Doak Takes a Loss

Chuckey-Doak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the South Greene Rebels, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-3 two weeks ago.

Jayden Myers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Paylin Shelton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Chuckey-Doak's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for South Greene, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Chuckey-Doak and South Greene could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Black Knights (ranked 275th) will meet Elizabethton (ranked 132nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, South Greene will face off against Unicoi County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (135 vs. 43).
