The Coral Springs Colts will venture away from home to challenge the South Broward Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Coral Springs is headed out to face South Broward after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Coral Springs blew past Monarch 11-0 on Wednesday.
Coral Springs got a great performance from Saul Betancourt as he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. What's more, Betancourt also gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shaquille Sala, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jaxon Krugman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, South Broward sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over Piper on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won seven in a row.
Ricky Losada and Keniel Marrero were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Losada pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Marrero tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Losada scored two runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances, while Marrero scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
In other pitching news, Rocco Villella tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
Back at the plate, South Broward let Lane Parris and Christian Font loose on the outfield. Parris scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Font scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Gabriel Lydia was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Coral Springs skirted past South Broward 5-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coral Springs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
