Bunker Hill had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the North Greene Spartans by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Minutemen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Bunker Hill easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-6.

Eden Howard paced Bunker Hill's offense, picking up seven kills. Howard got some help from Layla Balai and her 12 assists. Balai also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Bethany Scroggins, racking up four apiece.

Bunker Hill has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Carlinville on the 26th. As for North Greene, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against New Berlin on the 26th.
