Baseball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Chargers vs. Shalom Christian Academy Flames
Mount Calvary Christian got themselves on the board against Shalom Christian Academy on Tuesday, but Shalom Christian Academy never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Flames.
David Zamora made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Zamora wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Hubler, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Hubler is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
The win got Mount Calvary Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Shalom Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Calvary Christian will square off against Christian School of York at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shalom Christian Academy, they will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
