West Sequoia recap Nov. 7, 2012

Fowler made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,262 from 7,327. The advance stemmed from a 35-13 victory over Caruthers last week.

Minarets's dynamic duo of Keenan Reardon and Sam Reyes proved tough for Laton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Reardon threw for 251 yards and one touchdown and Reyes had 177 yards receiving. Gavin Rodrigues helped Minarets' passing attack out by catching one ball for 31 yards.

James Silva was the most productive running back in West Sequoia this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 127 yards as the Redcats fell to the Mustangs. Hugo Martinez also contributed to the rushing game with 95 yards on the ground.

Cosmo Tracy made the biggest impact on defense this week as Minarets lost to Laton. The 6-foot-0 junior recorded one fumble.

Thanks to the talents of Silva and Martinez Fowler has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Silva leads the league in passing with 1169 yards, while Martinez has rushed for 856 yards this season. Jay Smoljan's team's Reyes leads the league in receiving yards with 542 on 28 catches.

Parlier led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Riverdale.
