Football Recap: Shallowater Starts off Right with Win over Monahans

Shallowater took care of business in their home opener on Friday (barely). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Monahans Loboes 17-14. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Loboes are ranked 179th).

Clayton Vincent threw for 94 yards on eight of 16 attempts. Brody Rowin was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Taden Logan rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
