Softball Recap: Glenvar Comes Up Short

Glenvar fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Patrick Henry on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 8-7. The Highlanders' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Glenvar's record now sits at 1-10. As for Patrick Henry, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, Glenvar will head out on the road to square off against Patrick County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season. As for Patrick Henry, they will welcome Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.3 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
