Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mt. Pleasant couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost to The Colony Cougars on the road by a 55-40 margin on Friday.

Despite the loss, Mt. Pleasant still got an impressive performance from Reggie Webster, who to rack up 22 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Webster has posted since back in February of 2024. Zeke Hargrave was another key player, putting up nine points.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 25-7. As for The Colony, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-10 record this season.

Mt. Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Colony, they will take on Ellison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ellison comes in on 12 and The Colony on 11.
