Baseball Recap: Petersburg Has No Trouble Against Southern

Petersburg came out on top against Southern on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Rams. Considering the Vikings have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Petersburg and bumps their season record up to 14-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Southern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Petersburg will take on Northern Garrett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southern, they will square off against Keyser at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
