Softball Game Preview: Interlake Saints vs. Foster Bulldogs

The Interlake Saints will head out to take on the Foster Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Interlake has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Interlake is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Evergreen just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 13-8 to the Wolverines.

Dorah Wang was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Smith, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Foster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Lindbergh, falling 11-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Foster saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Princess Noa, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Interlake's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Foster, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Foster's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Interlake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Foster, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain Interlake's hitters?

Everything went Interlake's way against Foster in their previous meeting on April 4th, as Interlake made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
