Baseball Recap: Metea Valley Takes a Loss

Metea Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 6-1 to the Plainfield South Cougars.

Metea Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Goeb, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Metea Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Plainfield South, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-14.

Metea Valley and Plainfield South could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Mustangs will challenge DeKalb at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (292 vs. 74). Meanwhile, Plainfield South (ranked 218th) will meet Plainfield Central (ranked 23rd) at 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
