Volleyball Recap: Novi Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Novi faced off against South Lyon on Saturday. The Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Lions. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2018.

While Novi was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14.

Leading South Lyon to victory were Mia Provagna and Lauren Chanko. Provagna had 12 digs, while Chanko had nine digs and four assists. Those 12 digs gave Provagna a new career-high.

Novi has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. As for South Lyon, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 31-8-1.

Novi didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Walled Lake Northern on the 11th. As for South Lyon, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Lake Orion on the 11th.
