Volleyball Recap: Natrona County Takes a Loss

Natrona County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Kelly Walsh Trojans, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Natrona County was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Ella Ries and ElaKay Sheets, who picked up three kills apiece. They were helped by Erin Aune and Emmie Trujillo, who contributed five assists each. Aubrey Lopez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Natrona County's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Kelly Walsh, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Natrona County has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Cody on the 20th. As for Kelly Walsh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Riverton on the 19th.
