Recap: Howard Hawks vs. Cristo Rey Atlanta

If the Howard Hawks were riding high off their 37-0 takedown of the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf Panthers back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Howard fell 42-31 to Cristo Rey Atlanta on Friday. Howard lost against Cristo Rey Atlanta in their previous head to head on Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-31 score last time.

Loss or not, Howard got some senior leadership from Ava Beck who scored seven points and Caitlin Forgione who scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Forgione has scored all season.

Howard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Cristo Rey Atlanta, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Howard has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cristo Rey Atlanta at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Cristo Rey Atlanta will be staying on the road to face off against Howard at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Howard's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Cristo Rey Atlanta's offense will have their work cut out for Cristo Rey Atlanta.
