Baseball Recap: Jonesboro Comes Up Short

Jonesboro has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.91 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Conway Wampus Cats, falling 11-1. The Hurricane haven't had much luck with the Wampus Cats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Jonesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Conway, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Jonesboro will square off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.88 runs per game on average), something the Hurricane will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Conway, they will challenge North Little Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wampus Cats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Charging Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
