Baseball Recap: Tonawanda Comes Up Short

Tonawanda had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-4 to make it six. They fell just short of the East Aurora Blue Devils by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 on Monday.

As for East Aurora, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games.

For East Aurora's part, Ben Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, East Aurora saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ross Rozanski, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Looking ahead, Tonawanda will be playing at home against Cleveland Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Aurora has already played their next match (against Kennedy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
