Soccer Game Preview: Jasper vs. Lumberton

Jasper hasn't had much luck against Lumberton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jasper Bulldogs will host the Lumberton Raiders at 7:00 p.m.

Jasper came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Bridge City. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 519th, while the Cardinals are ranked 190th).

Meanwhile, Lumberton kept a clean sheet against Vidor on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Vidor with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Andrew Hansen (4), Jaxan Tallina (3), and Rylan Pham.

Lumberton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those 11 matches. Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 13-6-1.
