Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brinley Benson and Logan Hayslip Lead Brenham to Victory

Brenham barely beat Iola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cubs put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday.

While Brenham won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-15.

Brenham was led to victory by Logan Hayslip and Brinley Benson. Hayslip had 12 digs and three aces, while Benson had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Benson has posted over her last six contests. Kylie Baker also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Brenham's win bumped their record up to 23-16. As for Iola, their defeat ended a nine-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-5.

Looking ahead, Brenham will square off against Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Cubs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Iola, they will challenge Normangee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
