Preview: Reed Raiders vs. Douglas Tigers
The Reed Raiders will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Douglas Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Reed focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Reed was fully in charge, breezing past Sage Ridge 76-25 at home. With that victory, Reed brought their scoring average up to 53 points per game.
Reed had a senior duo take command as Marcus Bartholet scored 21 points along with 3 steals and Jace Rickman-buono scored 9 points along with 8 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Smith, who scored 10 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Douglas, who are still winless after their fourth game. They suffered a tough 68-45 loss at the hands of Clark on Saturday.
Douglas' defeat came about despite a quality game from Caden Thacker, who scored 18 points. Thacker scored a full 40% of Douglas' points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jett Lehmann was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
Reed's win lifted them to 2-3 while Sage Ridge's defeat dropped them down to 0-4.
Reed was dealt a bruising 73-40 loss at the hands of Douglas in their previous matchup back in January. Thankfully for Reed, Theo Reid (who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
