Softball Recap: Grangeville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Grangeville came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Priest River Spartans. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Keely Macgregor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Macgregor was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kinzley Adams, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddison Harris, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Grangeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in five consecutive games.

Grangeville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16.6 runs. As for Priest River, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12-1.
