Softball Recap: Bristol Eastern Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hall on Tuesday, Bristol Eastern came back down to earth. The Lancers fell 8-4 to the Conard Red Wolves on Wednesday. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Kayla Webber made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Emily Valentine was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Bristol Eastern has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Conard, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Bristol Eastern will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Manchester at 3:45 p.m. The Red Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.1 runs per game on average), something the Lancers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Conard, they will be playing at home against Avon at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
