Recap: Miami Springs Golden Hawks vs. Central Rockets
The Miami Springs Golden Hawks suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Central 78-32. Miami Springs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.
Central found their leader in underclassman Willie Dye III, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dye III has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwight Carter, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Miami Springs' defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miami Springs will face off against Hialeah-Miami Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Hialeah-Miami Lakes is ranked 747th, while Miami Springs is ranked 745th). As for Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Coral Reef at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Coral Reef comes in on five and Central on four.
