The Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles will challenge the Peters Township Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keystone Oaks will be strutting in after a win while Peters Township will be coming in after a defeat.
Keystone Oaks took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against South Allegheny, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Gladiators 5-3.

Kennadi Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kailyn Brannon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Brannon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Keystone Oaks was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Allegheny only posted a batting average of .172.
Meanwhile, Peters Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Connellsville, falling 10-1.
Peters Township's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Keystone Oaks, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Keystone Oaks' speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's match. The Golden Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Peters Township, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Keystone Oaks continue to outrun the ball?
Keystone Oaks took their victory against Peters Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-5 score. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
