Soccer Recap: Anderson vs. Alexandria-Monroe
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Richmond, Anderson was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers as they made off with a 6-1 victory. Considering Anderson's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Carsyn Spolyar and Makenna Lyon scored all six of Anderson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.
Anderson's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Alexandria-Monroe, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anderson will face off against Elwood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alexandria-Monroe, they will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Tipton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
