Baseball Game Preview: Chaffey Tigers vs. Diamond Ranch Panthers

Chaffey is a perfect 4-0 against Diamond Ranch since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Chaffey and five for Diamond Ranch.

Things were looking good for Chaffey after they put the first runs on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Colony by a score of 8-7.

Chaffey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilio Alcala, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Alcala has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Diamond Ranch duked it out with Ontario on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 5-4.

Diamond Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Chaffey, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Chaffey beat Diamond Ranch 11-6 when the teams last played back in March. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
