Softball Recap: Watkins Memorial Takes a Loss

Watkins Memorial was the 5-0 winner over Lancaster when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors lost 15-3 to the Golden Gales on Saturday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Watkins Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sierra Fuchs, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

Watkins Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Lancaster, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Watkins Memorial will face off against Licking Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lancaster, they will square off against Groveport-Madison at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Gales are facing the Cruisers at the right time seeing as the Cruisers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
