Softball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

If Wheeler was feeling good fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Tremont last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the East Union Urchins on Monday, falling 9-1. The Eagles have struggled against the Urchins recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Wheeler saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marli Kate Shockley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for East Union, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.

Wheeler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Union, they are taking a road trip to challenge Booneville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
