Basketball Recap: Georgetown Visitation Prep Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Georgetown Visitation Prep can now relate to. They fell just short of the Coolidge Colts by a score of 56-54 on Wednesday. The Cubs just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Georgetown Visitation Prep lost, don't look at Alyssa Fitzgerald. Despite the final result, she went 7-for-13 on her way to 21 points and six steals. That's the most steals Fitzgerald has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Becca Safavian, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Georgetown Visitation Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Coolidge, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 28-3.

While Georgetown Visitation Prep had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
