Baseball Game Preview: Peninsula Panthers vs. Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves

The Peninsula Panthers will square off against the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Peninsula is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against West Covina on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Panthers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Aaron Monzon, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Edrian Chao, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-5.

Peninsula was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, in Wednesday's Canine Competition, Wiseburn- Da Vinci prevailed. They put the hurt on Rolling Hills Prep with a sharp 14-4 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Nathaniel Barba was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Edward Sanchez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Peninsula, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.
