Football Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Kilties vs. Middletown Islanders

The Mt. Pleasant Kilties will face off against the Middletown Islanders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Mt. Pleasant is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against East Providence on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Kilties had to suffer through a 48-8 loss at the hands of the Townies. The Kilties were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Meanwhile, Middletown faced Tolman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Islanders were dealt a 41-3 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Islanders were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Mt. Pleasant lost to Middletown at home by a decisive 37-20 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Kilties, Patrick Cranson (who picked up 83 receiving yards and four touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
