Basketball Game Preview: South Summit Wildcats vs. Morgan Trojans

Two dominant guards in Logan Woolstenhulme and Bracken Saunders are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The South Summit Wildcats will head out to face off against the Morgan Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South Summit comes in on four and Morgan on 17.

Last Friday, South Summit earned a 58-48 victory over Grantsville.

Woolstenhulme continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten boards. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of South Summit's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Osguthorpe, who posted 11 points.

Union typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Morgan proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 58-45. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Cougars are ranked 69th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Summit is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Morgan, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road.

South Summit came up short against Morgan in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-53. Can South Summit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
