Baseball Recap: St. Frederick Takes a Loss

St. Frederick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tioga Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 10-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

ANTHONY JACKSON was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, St. Frederick saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CARSON DAY, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was DAY's first of the season.

St. Frederick's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Tioga, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

While St. Frederick had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
