Football Game Preview: Mulberry Panthers vs. North Port Bobcats + Official Tickets

The Mulberry Panthers will venture away from home to take on the North Port Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mulberry has given up an average of 26.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mulberry is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 36 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Frostproof on Friday. They had to suffer through a 44-12 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Mulberry might have lost, but man, Josiah Cobbett was a machine: he picked up 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, North Port was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 29-25 heartbreaker at the hands of Hardee.

North Port's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mulberry, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Mulberry took their win against North Port in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 34-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
