Preview: Eustace Bulldogs vs. Rice Bulldogs
Eustace has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Rice Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eustace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1225th, while Rice is ranked 182nd).
Last Wednesday, Eustace was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Palmer.
Meanwhile, Rice waltzed into their match on Tuesday with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They breezed by Blooming Grove on the road to the tune of 85-46. Rice's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Saniya Burks, who dropped a double-double on 62 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Aaliyah Nezar was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Eustace has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Rice, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Eustace was taken down by Rice 59-24 when the teams last played on January 2nd. Can Eustace avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
