Basketball Game Preview: La Sierra Eagles vs. Norte Vista Braves

The La Sierra Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Norte Vista Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Sierra has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Norte Vista will come in with four straight victories.

Last Tuesday, La Sierra was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to Patriot.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Norte Vista). They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 112-46 win over Rubidoux. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Norte Vista's win came from a few key players La Sierra will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carter Fulton, who almost dropped a double-double on 36 points and nine steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hugo Morales, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds.

Norte Vista was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Norte Vista pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.8 points. As for La Sierra, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

La Sierra took a serious blow against Norte Vista in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 99-47. Can La Sierra avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
