Baseball Recap: Merrill Gets the Win

Merrill's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Carson City-Crystal Eagles a 1-0 shutout. For the Vandals, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Merrill now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Carson City-Crystal, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Merrill is set to square off against their familiar foe Sacred Heart Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vandals 3.5, the Irish 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Carson City-Crystal will face off against rival St. Charles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
