Soccer Recap: West Valley Extends Winning Streak to Seven

West Valley pushed their score to zero the last time they played North Central, but on Thursday they couldn't quite do it again. West Valley's defense stepped up to hand North Central a 1-0 shutout. Given West Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while North Central are ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory keeps West Valley at an undefeated 7-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven matches. As for North Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.
