Recap: Taliaferro County JAGUARS vs. Greene County Tigers
The Taliaferro County JAGUARS's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Greene County on the road and fell 98-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Taliaferro County in their matchups with Greene County: they've now lost nine in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Taliaferro County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Omareon Weaver. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Weaver grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Orlandus Craft, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Taliaferro County bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Greene County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Taliaferro County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Oconee Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Greene County, they will play host again and welcome Lincoln County, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
