Basketball Game Preview: Union Grove Christian Patriots vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies

The Union Grove Christian Patriots will challenge the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Union Grove Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Glen Iris Baptist on Friday. Union Grove Christian fell 34-24 to Glen Iris Baptist. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 252nd in North Carolina, while the Swordsmen are ranked 101st in Alabama).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zoey Stiltner, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hanes, who earned two points along with seven boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-45 win over Randleman. The Grizzlies pushed the score to 46-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Union Grove Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Oak Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
