Basketball Recap: Josh Becker Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, Valley Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 72-69 win over the Buckingham Charter Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-46 on January 7th.

Valley Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Becker out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Becker has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Barna, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.
