Baseball Recap: Woodmore Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Woodmore proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 13) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 back in April.

Keil Almroth looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

Woodmore's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.4 runs across that stretch. As for St. Mary Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coming up, Woodmore will welcome Calvert at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Mary Central Catholic, they will head out to challenge Monroeville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
