Soccer Recap: Halifax County Extends Winning Streak to Five

Halifax County kept a clean sheet against Bassett on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 4-0 win. Considering Halifax County have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Halifax County's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for Bassett, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5.

Coincidentally, Halifax County and Bassett will both be playing George Washington the next time they take the pitch. The Comets will head out to face the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Bengals will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 28th.
