Recap: Midwest City Bombers vs. Elgin Owls
After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three matchups, The Midwest City Bombers finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 13-3 to Elgin. Midwest City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elgin apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Kenneth Colston threw for 84 yards on nine of 22 attempts. Keion Hudson was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards. On the ground, Jahhim Mahmoud rushed for 51 yards.
Matthew Lund was his usual excellent self, rushing for 165 yards. Lund is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. Shay Spencer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Midwest City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Elgin, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midwest City will take on Bishop McGuinness at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elgin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Piedmont is ranked 30th, while Elgin is ranked 12th).
