Basketball Recap: Magnolia School of Excellence Takes a Loss

Magnolia School of Excellence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt an 86-23 defeat at the hands of the Byrd Yellow Jackets. The contest marked Magnolia School of Excellence's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Magnolia School of Excellence's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Byrd, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Magnolia School of Excellence will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Haughton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Haughton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Magnolia School of Excellence likes a good challenge. Byrd also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Green Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
